Tradebe Inutec Presented Second RoSPA Order of Distinction Award for Health and Safety Practices

Marlow, 13th May: After the recent news that Tradebe Inutec had been granted the first nuclear site licence to an operating facility in 15 years, the company is celebrating again after having been presented a prestigious award in recognition of its health and safety practices.

Tradebe Inutec has for the second year in a row achieved an Order of Distinction recognising 16 consecutive Gold awards in the internationally-renowned RoSPA Health and Safety Awards, the longest-running industry awards scheme in the UK.

Tradebe Inutec is the only nuclear waste treatment company with a RoSPA Order of Distinction. The award will be presented during a ceremony at ExCeL, London on June 18th, 2019.

The RoSPA Awards scheme, which receives entries from organisations around the world, recognises achievement in health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.

Denise Cardenas, SSHEQ Director at Tradebe Inutec said: “Achieving a second Order of Distinction in the RoSPA Health and Safety Awards places us in the top 15% for safety performance nationally and amongst the best performing companies in the nuclear sector. Maintaining our position as the only nuclear waste treatment company with an Order of Distinction is something we are incredibly proud of. We remain dedicated and committed to health and safety across all of our operations.”

Julia Small, RoSPA’s head of qualifications, awards and events, said: “The RoSPA Awards have become the key fixture in the health and safety calendar…”. “Highly-respected, with almost 2,000 entrants every year, RoSPA award winners benefit from the wide-ranging rewards of improved sector reputation.”

In February this year Tradebe Inutec was granted a nuclear site licence for its Winfrith facility in Dorset – the first licence granted by the Office for Nuclear Regulation to an operating facility in 15 years. As a result, Tradebe Inutec is now a core member of the Safety Directors Forum (SDF) which plays a crucial role in bringing together senior level nuclear executives to identify and resolve key strategic challenges facing the industry in the fields of Health, Safety, Security, Safeguards, Environment and Quality (HSSSEQ).
